Outreach Work: Workshops / Choir Collaborations / Lecture Demonstrations

Voice has over 15 years’ experience of delivering workshops and offers a range of educational and outreach programmes. These range from workshops for all abilities, in-school performances, choir collaboration opportunities, and lecture demonstrations and detailed workshops on the music of Hildegard of Bingen using original scores.

We have experience of working in primary and secondary education, university music students, community groups and senior citizens.

If you are interested in booking an outreach session with Voice, please get in touch with your requirements to voicetrio@gmail.com with Workshop in the title.

‘Voice led an inspiring and high-level workshop for our students which challenged the most able whilst allowing the youngest students to participate too by providing lines of varying complexity. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and several of the pieces Voice taught us have now entered our choir’s concert repertoire. Voice’s evening concert demonstrated their incredible musicianship, pin-sharp tuning and refined ensemble sound, and set an inspiring example to the students, many of whom had never heard a professional a cappella vocal group before. One parent was heard to remark afterwards that it was the best concert she had yet seen at the school. Please thank all the members of Voice for a memorable and thought-provoking afternoon and evening.’

“They were absolutely amazing!… they gave their very best to us from the Friday workshop with 45 of our undergrad vocal students through the 45 minute performance for our retired Sisters on Saturday morning. It couldn’t have been better.”

From the Students:

Addie Neale: “I thought that it was a great experience. I had fun learning about rounds and learning news songs…he ho nobody home was my favorite.” It was also great meeting AMAZING singers with great personalities, voices, and technique. They sang with everyone and made it really comfortable to learn the new music.”

Dumar Valencia: “I loved the trio and had a lot of fun! My favorite song that I learned was “Rose, Rose.” It reminded me of my a cappella group. I loved the harmonizing…it sounded beautiful. I enjoyed it so much that friends and I had to sing the songs together even after it ended.”

Lila Cooper: “It was such an amazing experience to be able to work with these wonderful, talented, and professional artists. It was so much fun and it was a great feeling to sound fantastic with these beautiful singers!”

Shirley During: “The trio from Strathmore was amazing! They all had such pure harmony and they had great vocal flexibility. I hope they can come back and teach us more vocal techniques!”
